Within a year, it is estimated that an average of 235,000 Canadians experience some form of homelessness.Â
While often thought of as being on the streets, experiences of homelessness encompasses anyone at risk of or without permanent housing. This includes temporary couch surfing between family and friends, people living in emergency shelters or transitional housing, or those about to lose housing because of unemployment, domestic violence, and more (A review of Canadian homelessness data, 2023).
